Novel: Saqf Al-Kifaya

Description

Author: Mohammed Hasan Alwan Publisher: Al Saqi Edition date: 2018 Number of pages: 464 I began to think that my loss of writing, the homeland and my mother were only attempts on my part to lose other things besides you. I wanted sorrow to gather upon sorrow so that they would blend into one another until the features of your first sorrow were erased. Perhaps some of them believed me when I told them this later, and perhaps they thought me a madman whose love had taken his mind, but I believe that one stab is more painful than two, and the wound hurts more when the rest of the body is sound, and I wanted to scatter my thoughts among several sorrows so that one sorrow would not have me all to itself and kill me. "Sky of Sufficiency" is a long letter from the novel's protagonist "Nasser" to his beloved "Maha" who left him and married another man. The entire novel is narrated by its protagonist Nasser in the form of his reflections, through which he moves between two times: the first, in which his story with Maha began in Riyadh, and the second, in which he lives in his voluntary exile in Vancouver with the companions of his estrangement.
